The Festas em Honra de Nossa Senhora da Lapa are the largest and most anticipated festivities in Arcos de Valdevez, attracting thousands of visitors annually. Spread across nine days in early August, the festival combines deeply rooted religious traditions with vibrant popular celebrations.
The rusgas populares (folk group parades through the town) are a highlight, along with grand processions, nightly concerts, traditional markets, and spectacular fireworks displays over the Rio Vez.
